Tonight, Paul Tripp was our speaker. He spoke on the power of our words and whose kingdom they serve, the kingdom of God or the kingdom of me, "The Deadly War of Words".
This was one of the most powerful messages I've ever heard on how we speak to each other and why we talk the way we talk. You can find a comprehensive set of notes here. It's worth a look.
Although the notes are a good read, part of the power of this message was in the way Dr. Tripp delivered it. He kept us totally engaged for the entire talk. It was Scripturally correct and had profound real world application. I highly recommend, if you have the time (about an hour), that you listen to the whole message. You can listen here or you can download it here.
So far, the entire conference has been well organized and the teaching amazing. Piper has chosen his speakers well and the theme has developed exquisitely as we moved from session to session. We have been challenged by the teaching and blessed by the worship.
Tomorrow morning, we hear John Piper. We're really looking forward to his message. There's been a growing anticipation throughout the entire conference. Each successive speaker has further developed the theme and brought something valuable to the table. Piper will bring the keynote message. His vision for the conference has been well articulated and it will be a blessing now to hear his heart.
