YOU KNOW WHAT? LIFE WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU

Console my heart to move on.  Friday night now is so different without Daddy.  I guess everyone is OK now eventhough that we have to bear the agony of missing him sometimes.  Yes, there will be a time when these tears can't be hold anymore.

I managed to capture Lancelot and Ashlynn latest pictures.  Daddy would be smiling to see these, his beloved grandchildren.

With her biggest hope, expecting to watch Upin and Ipin but sorry little dear, The Chronicles of Narnia conquered the audience tonight.  Next November, Ashlynn will be two years old.  I still remember Daddy used to look after Ashlynn when my Mom and Sis busy cooking in the kitchen.  Daddy always said that Ashlynn looks like me.

Don't follow this action at home unless you are born with horsey teeth like Lancelot.  Very brilliant boy though he's quite playful and handful to handle.  Next January, he'll be ten.  I still remember when Daddy was buried, the following night Lancelot refused to sleep inside his bedroom.  He slept on the floor, next to Daddy's picture that we placed in between two candles.  "I want to sleep with Aki (grandpa)."  He begged his Mom to stay in the livinig room.  How brave he was, sleeping alone in the living room, accompanied by his grandpa's picture.  We were so touched by his action.  Lancelot and Daddy were very closed, sometimes he would climb on his grandpa's bed and slept with him.  Oh, one more thing, Daddy always bought Cloud 9 bars for him too.  I mean everyday.  It really hurts to accept the fact that grandpa won't be able to buy Cloud 9 for him anymore.

A year ago, no matter whether we have taken our dinner or not, we must accompany Dad at the dining table.  Joining the dinner is the most appropriate word.  Now, if we don't feel like cooking at home then we will ask Mom to include us in the dinner.  She would cook extra dish and rice.  But last night, I didn't want to bother Mom.  On the way home, we  had our supper at Tabuan Jaya.

I miss this Kolok Mee.  When I look around, I noticed that this Kolok Mee stall is the only stall that has been survived for more than ten years.  Still remember when we were still dating, we used to come here and eat.  I guessed this Kolok Mee also the first Gabby ever tasted in her life.

Well, as what I believe, life has to go on.  I can see Mom has moved on, so do my sister and brothers.  Me?  Yes, I guess I am cool now except that I can't and I don't want to erase my sweetest memories with Daddy.
What I want to see, within next 20 years, would I be able to recall back the way Daddy walked, talked and laughed?  Will I forget about how did his voice sound like in the future?  I don't want to forget, I will treasure them inside my heart.

Daddy, we miss you.

KIMORA, I AGREE WITH YOU. BABYSITTING IN THE OFFICE IS REALLY FUN

Yesterday.

FIL had to send MIL for medical check up and then MIL had to look after hubby's grandma who is not feeling well. I didn't want to bother her. Since there is no qualified nanny at home except our 9 cats & 2 dogs, I tagged Gabby along to my office. Most of my colleagues and bosses are still on leave so it would be easy for me to take care of her.

Ok. It's time for a serious job. No talking. I asked her to sit at my assistant's desk. Gabby was so happy and felt so lucky because this PC has internet connection. Time for Facebook people! My girl is obviously getting slimmer in this picture eh! Oh yes, updating her height, she has now reaching 5 feet! * I hope that she can exceed 5"8 once she stopped growing one day!* ~~ dreaming ~~

I made her to promise that if she completed all of her home works, I will let her go online. Yes, she did. During lunch time, Papa sent us over some tapau (packed) rice with fried chicken. Yummy. What else did we get? Cans of Soy Bean drinks, keropok (snacks) etc. This is one of the reasons why we love Papa so much. He's so afraid that his two Queens would go hungry, he rather walked to the nearby food stall and packed for us. Thanks Papa!

It's 5:00 p.m. people.!! Quickly picked up her books, pencils, eraser etc. Grab grab! Gonna have early dinner with Mama, Aunt Mel and cousin Easter. Next destination? Kenyalang Park market. Gabby was complaining hungry since 3 p.m. eventhough after a super heavy lunch and snacks, OK?

MERDEKA IN LUNDU!

Went back to Lundu yesterday to transport over the old bathroom and toilet doors from the old house. Yes, we are going to recycle all the planks, doors, staircase for our 'retreat' house in Lundu. That is one of Daddy's dreams. Soon Daddy, you will see the house built beautifully by uncle. My Dad was actually from Saratok but he loved Lundu very much, I know why. He met Mom here, for the first time ♥ ♥ ♥

My Mom is the one from Lundu, precisely at Kampung Klaoh. Just a minute away from the famous ferry, then the coarsely made bridge. *giggle*.

The weather was so bright yesterday. Damn hot! The journey from Kota Samarahan was like one and half hour because we drove slowly. Needless to tell you that I had a packet of Yeo's Winter Melon drink, a bottle of soda, bottles of Mineral water. I can't stand the heat that is why I gulped the drinks just like a fat camel. By the way, have you ever seen a fat camel before? I don't think so. Haha.

When we arrived, I only sat in my aunty's house for a while. It was super warm inside and I was not comfortable to sit on the floor. Yes, blame it on my size. I felt suffocated. Therefore, I joined my hubby and brother Ted sitting at the storehouse.

Brother Ted, sitting on my cousin's bike. You can see hubby's leg hahaha, my nephew and cousin in the picture.

Baby Ashlyn, my cute little niece. I felt sorry for seeing her tried to follow her elder cousins and being rejected because she is still small.

... and Gabby, she still looks OK today, even after long hours playing under the sun!

So what did you guys do yesterday? Tell me!!

SLOW PRODUCTIVE MONDAY, SO DOES THIS ENTRY

My lovely Sunday morning was gorgeous. When I woke up, I could smell the aroma of fried rice. I quickly took my towel and rushed to the bathroom. Normally, I am the weekend's Chef but this time, I knew it wasn't my MIL's usual cooking. When I entered the kitchen, "Good morning!!!!!" Hubby greeted me. He cooked Nasi Goreng Belacan!! OMG OMG my fav! I knew it! I knew it wasn't her Mom who cooked it. I can just tell by one sniff!

A descent but very aromatic and delicious. Thanks love! I had 2 plates with hot black coffee to wash 'em down.

OK. To show my appreciation, I cooked his favourite 'Sambal Sardin' (Sardines in Sambal gravy) for lunch. Mild in spiciness but really 'kaw' and its best partner is Omellette. Yummy. Later, in the evening we went to Kopitiam No. 6 for our tea time. I captured Gabby's picture, love it.

...... figuring how's her future like, perhaps?

OLA JULY!

Welcome to the 7th month of the year. Where have we gone so far?

  • Ariel 'Peterporn's video spread on the internet,
  • England, Portugal, Italy and other big names have said bye bye to the World Cup this year,
  • I don't have enough time to blog and when I'm free, I'm running out of idea,
  • My appetite is killing me back!

Yes. I hate my appetite, I need to suppress my elephant's appetite. Very very bad for me. Haha. Let us recap what is happening lately. At home, things are like usual. MIL's screaming, nephew's tantrum, Gabby had moved to a new room and sleeps alone. Mama's girl is a tween now!

Workloads are as usual giving me hard time but I love it, I love being busy and occupied all the times. Don't know what kind of surprise this life will give after this? Frankly speaking, we're so affected emotionally and financially.

I just let where my life leads me, after a long, serious, heart to heart conversation with hubby, he's finally agreed. Thanks love. You really understand this stubborn lady. Need to change the wind, changing new direction and looking for a better Feng Shui, perhaps?

Whatever it is, que sera sera, what ever will be, will be......

FAREWELL TO MY HOLIDAYS

A happy Gawai picture at my cuzzy's house. From left, Sayra, Cynthia, Gabby, Lancelot.

Olaaaa!!!!!

This is my final holiday entry. The honeymoon is going to be over soon. Gonna say goodbye to all the heavenly things I do daily, - waking up late, mugs of caffeine fix, conquering TV, unlimited online activities, cooking (oh, I miss cooking!), visiting the shopping malls when everyone is dying working in the office haha!

What have I achieved so far? I gained weight, I got more pimples, baggy sleepy eyes, more fun, (should I mention it over again?). Room clearance? Only the box that full of gadget craps. I need to clear them. More of sorting works to come. I hate sorting stuff, just to be frank.

Oh, just to add the torture. My Streamyx modem has gone to heaven. Need to buy a new modem, money again. I hate to think about spending more cash, more and more. Didn’t celebrate Gawai but we did spend extra this month, going back and forth twice to Sri Aman, plus the Sematan thingy, plus the ‘jalan jalan cari makan’ or ‘Jalan Jalan Buang Duit’ as what hubby always says. Pity hubby, you have married a big spender. Not the underwear ok? Yes, that one we will talk about later.. big spender, big size spender haha.

It’s not Miss Coki’s blog without foodie pics right guys? Yes. We visited cousin Venni at their crib, located in the greenery MJC Sanctuary Courtyard last week and we really had good jolly time there.

Lemang and Kelupis. Yum.

This is our family's recipe, inherited by the Unaks haha. This is called Rendang Bawang, no, no, it doesn't contain all onions in the world but we normally use extra bawang in this Beef Rendang. Less kerisek.

This is Chicken Pansoh. Served piping hot from the bamboo!

Mutton curry. Hubby loves this too much but I warned him already, for his high blood pressure.

Well, that’s it. Blogging from my bedroom via some 'generous' neighbour's internet line. Sorry dude, please install password next time. Haha.

GAWAI HOLIDAY @ SEMATAN BEACH

On the first day of Gawai Dayak, we made a visit to Sematan's Beach.

The plan came to mind spontaneously. The idea came when we stopped by the road side to buy some corns. Me love corn, who doesn’t love corn, ah so corny! The next day hubby came up with an idea to grill the corn at the beach – Sematan! Oh yes, the weather was hot but I didn't care, I looked at the brighter side - the was gorgeous! So by 10:00 a.m. everyone has taken their baths and packed foodstuff, I fried noodles and chicken wings. Oh, don’t forget the corn.

We left our crib at 10:30 a.m. the journey should take the most 2 hours but us? We arrived at 2:30 p.m. because the beach was fully packed with people. We arrived first at Sematan but the beach and resorts were packed. We then ran to Siar Beach and Pandan Beach but oh yeah, we’ve got the same results. Santubong? Damai?? Naaayyy…. It’s not real ‘beach’. Don’t feel like real beaches for real people. If you’re looking for staying at the mushy mushy resorts and spa, yeah, go to Damai and Santubong. The adventurous driving experience to Lundu and the togetherness under one roof, under the June’s hot weather.

The funniest thing that happened to us, yeah, I did cook at home and packed the fried noodles to be enjoyed at the beach. Because of the hu-ha thingy and we were running and chasing for the beach here and there, we have actually wasted our lunch time. We gave up and stopped at the Lundu town to have Chicken Rice.

So there we went with some slight changes in our programme. We unpacked and got everything ready. Lit up the fire and grill the corn. Thank God that some of the beach goers have gone home since it’s already passed 3:00 p.m. Hubby grilled the corn, MIL and Gabby swam at the dark blue sea. FIL was just watching them (he doesn’t like to swim and never goes to swim whenever we go picnic) and I watched movie on my bestie – cool Bluey the notebook. Haha. (another made-up name by me).

We stayed there until 5:30 p.m. We wanted to stay until sunset but it would be too late for us to reach Kuching and mosquitoes will come and bite us (wallaa!!) – please don’t simply ignore the dengue thingy. So we packed and I was so relieved that we managed to finish the noodles and fried chicken wings and of course the corn.

Hey, didn’t I tell you that we spread some margarine on the corn before we grilled them? Oh yeah, it’s heavenly sweet! Looking forward to another adventure during the next school holidays! wink

A DAY BEFORE GAWAI DAYAK

We visited Dad's grave on 31st May, as promised. We did not celebrate as Dad had just passed on 7 months ago and we thought it was better to let go any celebrations in the first year. We really miss him at this moment because he is the one who will be in charge of every single process like painting the house, interior deco and cooking.

He loved spicy food like Beef Curry, Ayam Masak Merah, Lamb Curry etc.

He would quarrel with us if we're doing our chores very slowly because everyone was so playful.

This year, his voice are no longer screaming and yelling at us, only memories remain and cherished forever.

Happy Gawai Dad, hope you're happy up there with Uncle Reynold @ El-Rey, don't drink too much, take care of yourself. We miss you so, so, so much. We love you Dad. We truly do. Oh yes, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY in advance Dad!

p/s: Oh yes Dad, Mom said to do cement works at your grave on your 1st anniversary. Hope you're gonna love our combined ideas. I promise.

MOTHERLY MESSAGE FROM ME ON MOTHER'S DAY

Very chocolaty Mother's Day chocolate cake bought by hubby. Love it, love it! Normally, we will have a very hefty lunch, yum yum and I will do the cooking and such. This year, we had Mother's Day brunch. Very heavy one, so that's it very simple yet memorable one.

This is my mother. I call her 'Mak'. Hehe. Mak is the bestest mommy cum bestie you can find in the world. See how simple she is? How smaller in size she is? A contrast version of me. Ngiahaha. But I know, I'm funny like her, right Mak? *wink*

My mother was born 50 years ago in Lundu. She's the 3rd child of 5 siblings and has the ability to sew princessy dress, baking deliciously, making handicraft like basket, mat, fishing net etc, you just name it. What I love about her - her preseverance in doing tactical and intense job. She always reminded us in the past, if you feel like you can't do anything (job, duty etc) , just do it slowly as you will complete it eventually, eventhough it slow, it will finish, just take your time.

Mak is dancing Poco Poco at church. You go Mak!

See? From where did I inherit my artistic element that runs in my blood? Mak contributed some of it, I guess. Mak, I wanna thank you for what I am today. I know I was so naughty and I did make you cry in the past but I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I am a mother myself now, I will mould my kid just like you did to us.

On this day, I pray to God, to grant you health Mak. Since Apai gone, you're the only person that we really rely on still. We love you Mak, for what you are, for being our mother and our friend.

Happy Mother's Day!

FAREWELL MY LITTLE SAM, OUR BELOVED SAM

We have been babysitting him since he's 11 months old. He's a very active and also so adorable in so many ways. His name is Sam. He's our love. Sam is actually the only son of our friend. What I could say about him that, he is a very obedient, responsible and easy to take care of.

The reason that I'm making this entry - today is the last day Sam coming to our house. He's going back to Miri next week, for good. Words can't define how hurt I am while writing this but I must be strong as strong as Sam.

Sam, will you always remember your Aki, Inek, Tatak Bibi, Dedek, Baby Atong, Uncle Muk and Aunty Pat? I hope that we always have a special place deep down inside your heart,...

Don't forget the sweetest moments that you spent everyday with us, helping Aki to sweep the floor, feeding the crayfish, watching cartoon with Atong, oh yes, knocking my bedroom's door if I'm taking leave. I know Bujang the van vendor would misses you too since you love to grab some sweets from the van and share it with Tatak and Dedek.

Sam, do you still remember Inek used to bath you in the sink and we played the shampoo bubbles till you cry because you still insisted to play in the bubbly water?

Sam, please don't forget us. If you feel like talking to us, please ask Daddy to dial our numbers. We've never thought that you are gonna leave us so soon. Aunty will always pray for your happiness, Sam. Be a good boy to your daddy, Popo and Ah Kong, promise to aunty will you?

Sayonara my little love, we always love you. We have loved you since the first time we saw you at Pizza Junction 3 years ago. *sob sob*
