Like all SM Malls every Christmas, SM City Calamba welcomes the yuletide season with a giant centrepiece that comprises of a whimsically 22ft diameter giant snow globe in which an adorable snowman sits on a wintry landscape. 

Present at the unveiling of the centrepiece was the lavishing SM Managers and employees. To welcome the people to the festive season through the Christmas Centrepiece launch was the Mall Manager Lorenz Calingasan who was the host of the launch on November 12, 2011. The audience was in awe as they unveiled the giant snow globe. Adding more festive flair and cheer to this year’s Christmas centrepiece are 2 giant toy soldiers (12ft tall) and a giant Christmas red chair underneath a colossal 15ft-tall Christmas wreath. The audience undoubtedly couldn’t wait to get their photos taken with the centrepiece as it was one of a kind and a first at SM City Calamba.

With an orchestra playing alongside the stage, this event couldn’t get any better. If you think that’s all, the audience was given another bonus surprise when Santa Claus himself showed up at the event. With moments like these, who wouldn’t be excited for the Christmas season so get snowbound for the holidays at SM City Calamba!

A Magical Kingdom of Christmas at SM City Fairview

Once upon a time, in a land of ice and snow, there was a magical kingdom protected by a beautiful fairy queen. She was a kind and fair ruler who loved her people and did everything she could to keep them safe and happy. Everyone lived in harmony with each other – even the animals. It was a hidden paradise filled with magic and fantasy.

Fearless wolves guard the gates to this kingdom. Pegasus, the winged horse, patrols from the skies while silent reindeers watch over the land and the forest.

Travelers say that they have seen the shining towers of the castle twinkling from afar. Sometimes when the wind blew over the mountains, they say you can hear the haunting strains of song and fairy music. To keep her kingdom safe, the fairy queen cast a spell on the castle and the entire land. It’s a powerful spell to test anyone who wishes to enter the Magical Kingdom. As the legend goes, to enter this magical land one must pass three magical tests

First, only someone with a good heart will be allowed past the wolves and the enchanted gate.

Second, only someone brave can cross the enchanted ravine towards the fairy castle.

And the third test is that hardest of them all. Once you enter the enchanted castle, the fairy queen will only reveal herself to someone with the true Christmas spirit.

MAGICAL CHRISTMAS IN SM CITY CEBU BEGINS

SM City Cebu launched its Christmas campaign and the SM Supermalls Christmas jingle on November 12 at the Northwing Atrium.  

The Christmas campaign launch was well attended by guests from the Cebu City government, media and shoppers.

The Christmas launch started with performances from stiltwalkers and magicians. 
The very talented young Cebuano violinist Jake Gacang serenaded the audience with his renditions of Christmas songs. A performance from the Voice of Cebu Chorale awed the audience with their powerful voices singing Christmas melodies.

Ms. Sherry Tuvilla, mall manager of SM City Cebu said during her welcome message that “Truly, the best gift to mankind is the child Jesus: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.”  But the best gift we can receive is knowing the delight that our customers get, in the little shrieks we hear, as we feature the unique centrepiece that SM is known for - serving as a convergence of families across the land.  

Highlighting the Christmas launch was the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas Trees by Cebu City Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young, Cebuana socialite and event specialist,  Ms. Teresin Mendezona together with the Vice President for SM Prime Holdings Ms. Marissa Fernan through the “magic wand”.

American Idol Season 10 contestant and Cebu’s very own talented singer Monique de los Santos sang the SM Christmas Jingle originally sang by international youtube sensation Maria Aragon. The 11 year old singer is now the official voice of SM Christmas ChriSM.  The 11 year old, Maria Aragon has come a long way ever since she uploaded a video of her breakthrough acoustic rendition of Lady Gaga’s song, Born This Way, back in February of this year.

The launch capped with a performance from Monique de los Santos singing O Holy Night and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

IT'S CHRISTMAS AT SM CITY CALAMBA!

Christmas started early as SM City Calamba formally launched its yuletide celebration last November 6 at the mall's atrium. With the theme, “Tis a Joyful Season at SM Supermalls”, this signals the start of the grandest and the most glittering holiday celebration.

In SM City Calamba, a Christmas centerpiece has been launched and important personalities of Calamba City participated in the lighting up ceremony. 

Mall Manager John Jason Terrenal & Calamba City Mayor Joaquin Chipeco, Jr. join hands in the unveiling and grand light-up ceremony.

 ABC President Saturnino Lajara, Board Member Andrew Nocon with Mall Manager John Jason Terrenal and Mayor Jun Chipeco during the gift-giving.

Chorale groups from different schools rendered joyful Christmas songs including the SM Supermalls Christmas jingle entitled, “Merry ChriSMs”.

All 40 SM malls were united with this simultaneous kick off and they have put together a rendition of 40 unique, family centerpieces that carry Christmas symbols that will surely put more meaning in celebrating Christmas with shoppers. SM City Calamba featured the Gingerbread House which is a popular activity during the Christmas season. Apart from this, shoppers can have their pictures taken at the cozy and comfortable red chair beside it.

Come and be a part of the Christmas celebration.There is no other place to go but SM City Calamba this holiday season. This is the perfect place for the whole family and barkada to shop, dine and have fun. SM City Calamba has got it all this Christmas season!

DeLIGHTFul CHRISTMAS LED FASHION CONTEST | SM CITY SAN LAZARO

Registration Policies:

1. This is an open competition. Professional, non-professional, students can participate.

2. Schedule:
November 24 to December 7 Registration/Submission of Entries
December 8 to December 31 Exhibits of Entries
December 20 - 3pm Judging of Entries

3. Entries must be submitted to the Marketing Department on or before December 7, 2010, 5PM.

4. Requirement would be the following:
a. Purchase requirement of 15 green bags
b. Application Form
c. Waiver
d. Valid ID
e. Php 500 single receipt purchase from any of the mall establishments, including SM Supermarket/ Hypermarket and SM Department Store

5. Theme of the entries should be FASHIONABLE CHRISTMAS

6. This entitles participant to enter only one (1) application form. One participant only per application form.

7. All entries must adhere to the theme and be atleast 121.90cm x 121.90cm (4ftx4ft) in size and not bigger than 121.90cmx304.80cm (4x10 ft).

8. Entries should be 3D creations or dioramas created with LED lights representing the theme.

9. Participants will be given a claim stub after they register. This stub will be presented along with a valid I.D. to claim their entries after the scheduled display.

10. For safety reasons, the Christmas lights to be used must be primarily LED lights and must have the stamp of Philippine Standards (PS) and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) purchased from either ACE Hardware or SM Department Store.

11. All other materials the contestant will use will be on their account. However, these materials should be:
a. Non-flammable
b. Non-toxic
c. No water feature

12. Criteria for judging:
30% Creativity
30% Uniqueness
20% Materials used
20% Execution/ Adherence to the theme

13. Prizes include:
Grand Prize: 50,000.00 cash (1 winner)
2nd Prize: 30,000.00 cash (1 winner)
3rd Prize: 10,000.00 cash (1 winner)
Eco Bag Shopper’s Choice Award: 5, 000 cash (1 winner)

Special criteria for ECO bag Award- the entry with the most number of Eco Bag purchase dated Nov.24-30,2010 paired to it shall win the award.
a. Supporters may buy additional Ecobag to support their favorite entries 1 Ecobag= 1 point
b. Only Ecobag purchase dated Nov.24-30,2010 will be credited.
c. Suppoters may register points with the Marketing Department within the promo period.
d. Supporters must surrender their purchase receipts with the name of the participant written at the back. Erasures will invalidate the points.
e. Points will be tabulated on Dec.20 by personnel from the Marketing Department in the presence of a DTI representative at the Event Center during the awarding ceremories, and the winner shall then be declined.

14. Winners will be announced on December 30, 2010.Winners will be notified by phone and registered mail. Names of winners will be posted in the mall.

15. Taxes for prizes shall be shouldered by the SM City San Lazaro.

16. To claim prize, winners must present his/ her notification letter, claim stub, TIN and one valid ID (furnished in two copies) to Shopping Center Management Corporation Administration Office c/o Marketing Department during office hours from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm. Organizer reserves the right to require submission of additional document/s to validate identity of winner/s.
