Today I drove over to Iowa State University in Ames to just walk around a bit. It was a beautiful fall day. Coming out of the parking ramp I saw this.
On a sunny, warm fall Sunday afternoon it is nice just to take a walk around the campus. I like this bench. You see a few of these around campus. Usually they are in memory of a long time professor or sometimes a student.
You see a lot of these gold maple trees.
I always like these big buildings. Of course such buildings are not built today but there was a time when they were very popular. I love the tall columns.
Though a large university, Iowa State still has quite a bit of big green spaces. This is what the students call Little Siberia. If you wonder why, stop back in winter.
I came across these wonderful metal sculptures. This is a man -- even has on red trunks.
These two are dancing. I think. Whatever they are doing, they are having fun.
I really liked this red man. It seems like he is saying "the fish was THIS big!"
Looking a little closer you can see some bolts holding him together.
This building appears to have people inside. Are they having a party?
The symbol of Iowa State is its campanile.
Let's stop for now. We'll step into the Student Union and take a look at the lake.
Come back in a few days and I'll show a bit more of the sights from Iowa State.
Thanks for stopping by.
